With crowd favorites, Eric Church brings home the final day of WE Fest 2024

The country music star told the crowd at Soo Pass Ranch Saturday night that he almost didn't perform due to an illness, but fond memories of previous WE Fests encouraged him to power through.

DETROIT LAKES — And just like that, another WE Fest is in the history books.

The crowd at Soo Pass Ranch was electrified as ever on Saturday, Aug. 3, for the final day of the country music festival, which began on Wednesday, July 31, with a kickoff concert.

Among Saturday's performers were Tanner Adell, Jackson Dean, Paul Cauthen and Elle King. And of course, headliner Eric Church.

When the country music star took to the stage Saturday night, he told the crowd he almost couldn’t perform due to sickness. But, the fond memories of past WE Fest performances gave him the strength to power through.

Eric Church asked for some help from the audience to get through his set, and told the crowd of his voice, “‘Till it goes out, you’ll get all I’ve got.”

For many WE Festers, this year was yet another memorable country music extravaganza.

Brendan Brannizk, of Fargo, made the pilgrimage to Soo Pass Ranch for the first time this year.

“I wanted to see what it was like,” Brannizk said of attending this year’s WE Fest.

Of the performers, Jelly Roll, who headlined on Thursday, was a standout for him.

“I loved Jelly Roll, that was great,” he said. “That was 10 out of 10.”

Another attendee, Ben Cleary, was so impressed with last year’s lineup that he returned again for all three days this year.

“I really like the Koe Wetzel performance and I also liked Park McCollum’s performance, but I’m really excited for Eric Church tonight,” Cleary said ahead of the performance.

Saturday’s theme was Paint WE Fest Blue. Attendees were encouraged to wear blue to support police, military members and first responders.
