Visit Bemidji named 'Best Award' recipient at Minnesota State Fair

Travel and tourism bureau Visit Bemidji has received one of 12 awards presented to the very best of the Minnesota State Fair's nearly 1,000 vendors at the 2023 Great Minnesota Get-Together.

ST. PAUL — Travel and tourism bureau Visit Bemidji has received one of 12 awards presented to the very best of the Minnesota State Fair's nearly 1,000 commercial exhibitors, concessions, attractions and food and beverage vendors at the 2023 Great Minnesota Get-Together.

The awards were presented in a ceremony held on Thursday morning on the International Bazaar Stage, with State Fair CEO Renee Alexander presenting Best Awards to a dozen fair vendors.

Visit Bemidji, which promotes tourism to Bemidji and has a booth located along the south wall of the Education Building, was selected because it exemplifies these characteristics:

  • Provide exceptional, efficient customer service and an outstanding experience for fair guests.
  • Knowledgeable staff with positive attitudes who are courteous, thoughtful and professional.
  • An amazing visual presentation and positive image.
  • Present a premium quality product/service.
  • Offer great value.

"Visit Bemidji is a small staff, and it has truly been a community effort to pull off what we did this year at the Minnesota State Fair," Visit Bemidji's Executive Director Josh Peterson told the Pioneer after the awards were announced. "We have had everyone from the city council to university staff to business owners down here showcasing Bemidji to the masses.

"While it might be the Great Minnesota Get-Together, it's also been the Great Bemidji Get-Together down here as well."
