BEMIDJI 鈥� Great River Rescue is currently hosting a Thankful for Happy Homes adoption event through Nov. 15, featuring a name-your-price adoption fee for cats and dogs at the shelter, 1612 Carr Lake Rd. SE.
"We would love for our animals to find homes for the upcoming holidays, so we鈥檙e hosting a name-your-price event for both dogs and cats," a release said.

There is a minimum of $5 for cats and $15 for dogs, which does not include a spay or neuter deposit for unaltered pets. The deposit is $50 for cats and $75 for dogs.
"Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are preferred," the release said. Great River does not allow same-day adoptions, so appointments must be made a day in advance or during the walk-in to adopt the following day.
