As leaves crunch beneath the feet of Bemidjians and the threat of the first snowfall looms in the air, it's a sure sign of October in the Northland.
Fans once again flocked to the Sanford Center for the return of Beaver hockey and filled the stands at Chet Anderson Stadium for football and soccer, families decked out their yards in Halloween decorations, and Bemidji's 11th annual Blue Ox Marathon saw its highest attendance to date.
