BEMIDJI — A year and a half after the  Bixby Condos  were completed on Bemidji's South Shore, another housing development is now in the works.

Slated to open in the spring of 2026, The Walker is a new apartment complex being developed by Jonzek LLC and Mrazek Construction. The project offers a variety of floor plans and amenities, embedding elements of Bemidji's history in the careful naming of each layout.

The development is led by Timothy W. Mrazek, owner of Mrazek Construction and a fourth-generation Bemidji resident. Known for his commitment to quality development in the community, Mrazek’s work includes the nearby Bixby Condos, further transforming Bemidji’s South Shore into a vibrant residential hub.

Located near the Paul Bunyan Trail, South Shore Beach and the Sanford Center, the apartments offer recreational access and community convenience. Named after Thomas Barlow Walker, a key figure in Bemidji’s history, Mrazek hopes the project will tie the city’s legacy to its ongoing growth.
