BEMIDJI — Loon Country Arts is set to host a First Saturday Open House with a Creative Cafe workshop from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 7.
The workshop will be led by artist Annette Meyer and there is no cost to participate, a release said. Creative Cafe is sponsored by Paul Bunyan Communications.

While at the gallery, guests are invited to view the acrylic paintings of Elaine Netland and her loons and birch trees exhibit, as well as visit with her intern, Aspen Tobin, regarding her display of work completed as part of her internship under the Pathways to Art project for young artists.
The Visiting Artist Showcase is sponsored by First National Bank Bemidji.
Here's a look at the upcoming class schedule, available for young people between the ages of 8 and 18:
- A "Name Art" colored pencils class with Charles Alberti will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, May 28.
- A "Whimsical Cards" watercolor class with Lily Hadrava will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28.
- A "Felted Bird" needle-felting class with Lanee Paulson will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 31.
- A "Watercolor Pencil Techniques" class with Les Sanders will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4.
- A "Beaded Bracelet" class with Annette Meyer will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 5.
- A "Crazy Zebra" watercolor class with Donna Andersen will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 6.
- A "Mountain Landscape" acrylic painting class with Charles Alberti will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11.
- A "Painted Rock Turtle" acrylic painting class with Annette Meyer will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 12.
- A "Wire-Wrapped Pendant" jewelry class with Kathy Sanders will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 13.
- A "Wood-Burning Techniques" class with Les Sanders will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 14.
- A "Wire-Wrapped Crystal/Rocks" jewelry class with Kathy Sanders will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 14.
Pre-registration is required for these free classes. All materials are provided by the instructor unless otherwise listed on the sign-up sheet. Class size is limited to 15 students.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota, through an Artists Engage Community Grant from the Region 2 Arts Council, the release said.
In addition, visit with gallery artists to become a participant in the Pathways to Art Program, a new opportunity open to all artists over the age of 13, to mentor with an artist in various mediums.
