Lloyd Holy donates restored John Deere lawn and garden to Lake Itasca Region Pioneer Farmers

BEMIDJI 鈥� Three years after donating his amassed collection of 900 farm toys to Lake Itasca Pioneer Farmers, Lloyd Holy of Bemidji has added a new addition to the display.

The noticeable addition is a restored John Deere white patio lawn and garden.

"This series built in the late 60s and into the 70s by John Deere was a total wreck and discovered in the Waubun, Minn., area," Holy said. "With the help of friends, the lawn tractor was disassembled, restored and reassembled, before mounting on display for this year's Lake Itasca Pioneer Days."

This John Deere lawn and garden was discovered near Waubun, Minn., area and restored by Lloyd Holy and his friends.

A former John Deere dealer and farm boy, Holy began his hobby in the early 1980s when he purchased a bundle of tractors from another collector. He soon began attending toy tractor shows throughout Minnesota and North Dakota, adding to the collection.

The annual event is set for Aug. 16,17 and 18 at the Pioneer Farmers grounds, located along State Highway 200 adjacent to Itasca State Park, 16914 North Entrance Drive, Lake Itasca.

Admission is $15 for one day or a three-day pass. Children 12 and younger are free. For more information, visit the Lake Itasca Region Pioneer Farmers .
