There was no further discussion and the motion passed unanimously.

They set the truth-in-taxation meeting date for 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9.

In other business, the school board did this:

  • Altered the school calendar so that Feb. 14 changed from an early release to a workshop day, while March 28 went from an early release to a normal school day.
  • Heard Dombeck’s report that construction is stalled due to permit issues.
  • Discussed the possibility of purchasing a snow plow, due to the lack of bids for snow removal. Board consensus was to seek bids from locals who have pickups with snow plow attachments.
  • Approved Barb Benson's Family and Medical Leave Act request, beginning Aug 14.
  • Approved the hiring of Meghan Smith as secretary/lunch coordinator and Rachel Remitz as a paraprofessional.
  • Approved the non-certified 2024-26 master contract. This includes bus drivers, paraprofessionals, cooks, custodians and secretaries. Dombeck said the pay increases for the next two years “keeps us pretty competitive with our neighbors.â€

The next regular meeting is 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 14.
