Items can be dropped off until July 27, at Great River Rescue, 612 Carr Lake Road SE.

For every pound of shoes collected, Great River will receive $0.40.

The shoes will be picked up by Funds2Orgs and sent to developing countries to create job opportunities for over 4,000 micro-entrepreneurs, lifting them out of poverty. It is estimated that 300 million people do not own shoes, the release said.
