Great River Rescue seeks applicants for board of directors

Great River Rescue is looking for community members with a passion for animals and community service to join its Board of Directors. Applications are due Feb. 1.

BEMIDJI — Great River Rescue is looking for community members with a passion for animals and community service to join its Board of Directors.

Individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills and experiences are encouraged to apply. Expertise in areas such as fundraising, marketing, finance and nonprofit governance is especially welcome, but anyone with a commitment to animal welfare and community service can apply, a release said.

Board member responsibilities include:

  • Attending monthly board meetings.
  • Supporting fundraising initiatives and community outreach.
  • Providing strategic direction to ensure Great River Rescue’s success.
  • Advocating for the organization’s mission in the community.

Board members serve on a volunteer basis and play a critical role in advancing the organization’s goals, which include rescuing, caring for and rehoming animals in need, as well as promoting responsible pet ownership.

"As a nonprofit shelter serving animals in the region, we depend on dedicated leadership to guide our mission and ensure its continued impact on our community," the release said.

Applications are due by Feb. 1.
