June 18, 2015 – Despite a tumultuous season that saw a coach fired, a 10-game losing streak and decreased attendance numbers, the general manager of the Bemidji Axemen said the Indoor Football League team will return in 2016. In the final four games of the season, the Axemen went 0-4 and were outscored 284-71.

June 18, 2000 – A total of 1.7 acres will be added to South Lake Irving Park, which will be renamed Roger Lehmann Park, during a dedication this week. The acreage is the gift of Phyllis Peters, Lehmann’s widow, and their children. Lehmann, who died in 1979, was a conservationist who cared deeply for the land.

June 18, 1975 – The Beltrami County Welfare Board chose not to support Living Waters, a proposed group home for adults with intellectual disabilities. If constructed, the facility would be located eight miles from the Walker Clinic and 28 miles from the nearest hospital. Rates for residents would be $13.64 per day.

June 18, 1925 – At the state livestock judging contest in St. Paul, the Bemidji High ÍáÍáÂþ» livestock judging team lost a free trip to the National Smith-Hughes dairy judging show in Indianapolis by a margin of only seven points. The team of Leo Fenske, Dell Wilson and Edward Clay took home two second-place prizes.
