"I am in awe, crying and smiling at the same time," Angeline Boulley, No. 1 New York Times bestselling author of "Firekeeper’s Daughter," said in the release. "'Where Wolves Don’t Die' is a love letter to our Ancestors. This beautiful story is full of cultural teachings and characters so familiar that I'm pretty sure we're related."

Treuer is a professor of Ojibwe at Bemidji State University. He is the author of many books, including He has traveled the world on a path to share his equity, education and cultural work, the release said.

Our newsroom sometimes reports stories under the byline "Pioneer Staff Report." This byline is used when reporters rewrite basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as an email or press release that requires little or no reporting.

Other times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
