After the council bands together with a new face, it will start moving through the consent agenda and will host a public hearing for possible charter amendments by ordinance from the Bemidji Charter Commission. Some of these amendments include changing terminology from "president pro-tem" to "mayor pro-tem" in Chapter 3, Council Procedure. Section 3.03 Mayor Pro-Tem, for example.

The council will then consider a couple of resolutions during new business, including approving a feasibility report about and setting a public hearing for a 2025 street renewal project — City Project 25-01 — and also a 2025 Park Avenue NW reconstruction project — City Project 25-02.

And following the regular meeting, the council will reconvene as the Bemidji Economic Development Authority for an annual meeting.

The Bemidji City Council meeting will take place at 6 p.m. tonight, Jan. 6, at City Hall. The meeting can also be viewed at
