Bemidji Senior Center offers bus trips to iron range, southern Minnesota

The Bemidji Senior Center is offering a bus trip to explore Minnesota’s Iron Range on Thursday, Sept. 12, and a three day tour of southern Minnesota Oct. 1-3.

BEMIDJI — The Bemidji Senior Center is offering a bus trip to explore Minnesota’s Iron Range on Thursday, Sept. 12, and a three-day tour of southern Minnesota Oct. 1-3.

Iron Range

The bus will depart at 7:30 a.m. at the Cenex South Parking Lot, 120 Convenience Lane SW and return by approximately 7:15 p.m.

In the morning, participants can learn about the Hibbing area with an experienced local guide with stops at the Hull Rust Mine Niew, Historic Hibbing High ÍáÍáÂþ»­ and the Greyhound Bus Museum.

Then the tour will go to Chishold to enjoy a buffet lunch. After lunch, participants will visit the Minnesota Mining Museum, the Minnesota Discovery Center and take a trolley tour of the Glen location, an old mining town.

There will be moderate walking during this trip.

The cost is $125 for members and $145 for non-members. The tour includes: motorcoach transportation, all activities as described, lunch buffet, boxed lunch for trip home, step-on guide gratuity. Driver gratuity is not included and an envelope will be passed near the end of the tour.

Bluff country autumn adventure

There will be a three-day, two- night bus trip to southern Minnesota traveling along Lake Pepin and the Mississippi River.

Trip highlights include a presentation at the National Eagle Center, a guided tour of Winona, Garvin Heights Overlook, a narrated Mississippi River Boat Cruise, a tour of Willet-Hauser Stained Glass Studio and Maiden Rock Apple Orchard, Winery and Cidery.

Two hot breakfasts, three lunches and dinners are included in the price.

This is a moderate-level activity with no refunds after Aug. 31. Purchase of travel insurance is encouraged. Driver gratuity or step-on local guide gratuity not included.
