BEMIDJI — A Bemidji home has suffered significant damage after a fire broke out early Tuesday morning along Bemidji Avenue NW.
According to a release from Bemidji Fire Chief Justin Sherwood, at 4:25 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire on the 1200 block of Bemidji Avenue NW.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a two-story house with fire and smoke coming from the second story, the release said.
Using a 1 3/4-inch handline, firefighters went into an offensive mode, entering the house to locate and extinguish the fire. Additional crews arrived on the scene, assisting with fire extinguishment and overhaul, the release said.
A total of 28 firefighters and nine pieces of equipment were on the scene for about three hours. The home suffered significant damage and no injuries have been reported, the release said. The fire is under investigation.
The Bemidji Police Department, Bemidji Ambulance, Minnesota Energy, Ottertail Power Company and the Minnesota Fire Marshal’s Office assisted the Bemidji Fire Department at the scene.
