BEMIDJI — A Bemidji home has been deemed a total loss after a fire broke out early Saturday morning along 15th Street near downtown.
According to a release from Fire Chief Justin Sherwood, at approximately 6:23 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, the Bemidji Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on the 400 block of 15th Street Northwest in Bemidji.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a single-story residential structure fully involved in fire. Using a 2 1/2-inch handline, firefighters went into defensive mode. Additional crews arrived on the scene, assisting with fire extinguishment and overhaul, the release said.
Thirty-eight firefighters and eleven pieces of equipment were on the scene for approximately four hours. The home and its contents are considered a total loss. The fire is under investigation and no injuries have been reported.
The Bemidji Police Department, Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Bemidji Ambulance Service, Solway Fire Department, Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office, Ottertail Power and Minnesota Energy assisted at the scene.
