BRAINERD, Minn. - A Crow Wing County Sheriff's deputy was injured Wednesday, Nov. 8, after an altercation with a suspect who fled in a motor vehicle from the judicial center in Brainerd.
Law enforcement officers within the Crow Wing County Judicial Center would not comment about the incident, stating they are still sorting out the details before putting together a news release.

An ambulance responded to the judicial center about 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, where the deputy appeared to suffer injuries to one of his arms and rode in the passenger seat of the ambulance when he was driven away.
About eight vehicles from the Brainerd and Baxter police departments and the sheriff's office set up a perimeter centered around the Central College Lakes football field.
The perimeter, set up at about 5 p.m. Wednesday, included law enforcement officers along Highland Scenic Road and Cora Street to the west and north, in an area bordered by West College Drive to the south and east.
The sheriff's office, at 304 Laurel St., has about 130 employees consisting of administrators, investigators, field deputies, correctional officers, dispatchers and support unit.
