FERGUS FALLS, Minn. — The driver of a minivan died as a result of a three-vehicle crash on Minnesota Highway 210 near Fergus Falls on Monday, March 11, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Anthony Thacker, 51, of Portsmouth, Ohio, was driving a Pontiac minivan and stopped on Highway 210 to remove frost from the windshield about 6 a.m. Monday. The minivan was then hit by a westbound Infiniti sedan driven by Bryan Robinson, 30, of Golden Valley, N.D., the patrol said.

This collision caused the minivan to spin around, with the passenger side facing westbound traffic. The minivan was then broadsided by a westbound Buick Rainier SUV, driven by Dustin Tomte, 30, of Fergus Falls, the patrol said.

Thacker was killed, and the minivan passenger, Dustin Dekarske, 36, also of Portsmouth, was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, the patrol said.

Thacker and Dekarske were not wearing seat belts, the patrol said. No one else was injured.
