Birthday celebration for Smokey Bear set for Aug. 8 at Norway Beach Recreation Area

CASS LAKE 鈥� An 80th birthday celebration for Smokey Bear will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, at Norway Beach Recreation Area.

Smokey Bear鈥檚 birthday party will include fire safety activities and wildfire prevention, crafts, stories and songs, as well as meeting the guest of honor, Smokey Bear, a release said.

This event is for all ages and will take place at the park's Visitor Center. Birthday cake will be served.
