Authorities put out alert for wife accused of gunning down husband in southern Minn.

BLOOMING PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Law officers are still looking for a wife who is thought to have gunned down her husband in rural Dodge County in far southeast Minnesota on Friday, March 23.

The Blooming Prairie woman is believed to be armed and dangerous.

She is Lois Ann Riess, who is 56 years old, 5-foot-5, 165 pounds with brown eyes and light blonde hair.

She is likely driving a white, 2005 Cadillac Escalade with Minnesota license plate 864-LAE.

Authorities urge anyone with information on her to not approach her, but call 911.

She has been known to frequent casinos.

According to the Dodge County sheriff’s department, the Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office identified her husband, David Riess, 54, as the victim of a homicide that took place in rural Dodge County. Riess died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds, said the examiner.

The Dodge County sheriff’s department is conducting the investigation with assistance from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
