BEMIDJI — Watermark Art Center will offer three art workshops this June, including basket weaving, birds of a feather mixed-media projects and a ceramic garden bells class.
Master weaver Shannon Lucas-Westrum will lead a basket weaving workshop from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 12.

Participants ages 14 and up will create cordage from local grasses and leaves, weaving in birch bark accents to create a versatile basket for hearth or harvest, a release said.
Under the guidance of Lucas-Westrum and her apprentice, attendees will build a sturdy grid base and then weave the sides around an 8-inch square hoop.
The finished basket will measure 8 inches high, 9 inches wide and 14 inches long.
The cost is $40 per participant, which includes materials.

From 1 to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 13, kids ages 6 and up can create several projects using various mediums at a Birds of a Feather mixed media workshop.
Participants will use various media, including a 3D paper sculpture, painting and drawing, a release said.
The class fee is $30 for non-members and $28 for members.

Instructor Jill Neumann will teach students ages 16 and older how to create hanging garden bells from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 21.
Participants will learn hands-on design techniques while keeping in mind the balance between visual aesthetics and functionality, explained the release.
Clay and glazes will be provided, and participants will have the chance to choose the glaze our studio will apply to their pieces when dry.
The cost is $45 per non-member and $40 per member.
