'Umbrellas of Unity' exhibit to open Aug. 19 at Watermark

BEMIDJI — Watermark Art Center will host an open house reception for the "Umbrellas of Unity" exhibit from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, at Watermark, 505 Bemidji Ave. N.

The exhibit, a group show celebrating diversity while creating conversations and connections between people, is conceptualized by local Batik artist Mary Therese.

Visitors are invited to enjoy the space underneath the umbrellas while reflecting on the messages depicted in the colorful images, a release said.

All are welcome to attend, the exhibit is free to the public and will be on display through Saturday, Oct. 22. Umbrellas will be available for purchase through an online auction beginning Monday, Oct. 3.

Watermark is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and located at 505 Bemidji Ave. N.
