BEMIDJI — Works produced by Lou Ferreri in a collection titled, "The Internal Affairs of Mr. Invincible" are on display in the Harlow | Kleven Gallery at Watermark Art Center, 505 Bemidji Ave. N.
The exhibition features 25 prints from a series of hundreds of drawings printed in the New York Times, produced by Ferreri between 2010–2017.

"The drawings are extravagant mixed-media images created on the editorial pages of The New York Times," a release said. "Initiated in 2010 as a continuing series, they elaborate on ordinary and extraordinary phenomena, physical preoccupations, anxieties and observations regarding the details of everyday living."
Influences for these daily drawings derive from news stories, op-eds, personal interactions, memory, history, intuition or a previous night’s dream.
According to the release, Ferreri once explained that "drawing on the surface of ever-changing newspaper headlines underscores the idea that, beneath the surface of our lives, the news resides as perpetual background noise."
Included in the exhibit are a selection of ceramic pieces from Bemidji State's Harlow Collection to complement Ferreri’s prints. Images of his work are also available for viewing online at
The exhibit will be on display through Sept. 19.
Watermark galleries are free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
