Hope House to hold painting class fundraiser

BEMIDJI — Hope House Bemidji will hold a "Swing into Spring" painting class fundraiser on Saturday, March 22, at Cantabria Coffee House, 211 Second St. NW.

A beginner session will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. An intermediate session will run from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

This event is part of a Happy Accidents painting series with Shannon "Bob Ross" Reyes, a release said.

"Explore the joy of mixing colors, experiment with washes, learn how to use value to add depth and discover how to use various brushes and tools to create dynamic textures and details," the release said.

By the end of the session, participants will have a bright and cheerful spring-inspired masterpiece to take home, the release added.

All materials are provided and light appetizers will be served.

The cost is $40 per person if they register by March 15, or $50 per person after March 15 or for drop-in.

Hope House is a nonprofit community support program for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. The organization offers adult rehabilitative mental health services and wrap-around support to help people with mental illness live a meaningful and healthy life in the community.
