Chris Omodt, a veteran police detective, and Pat Matter, the founder and 21-year former president of the Minnesota Hells Angels, discuss the investigation into the Hells Angels, Matter’s life and imprisonment, his cooperation and his time in federal witness protection.
Together, they wrote the book “Breaking the Code,” which Omodt calls a great story of redemption. Fellow crime author Mark Reps describes the book as “graphic, truthful, revealing” as it “explores both sides of the law – the right side and the wrong side – with equal detail,” and calls it a must-read for fans of true crime writing.
According to Omodt, the pair will talk about the Hells Angels’ war with the Outlaws, attempts on Matter’s life including a bomb under his truck, Matter’s successful custom motorcycle shop and racing career, and the pair’s activities training law enforcement agencies on motorcycle gang investigations and biker gang fact vs. fiction.
