BEMIDJI — Sanford Health will host an informational Doc Talk titled "Is Weight Loss Surgery Right For Me?" at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center, 1300 Anne St. NW.

Doc Talk is a free education series where Sanford physicians present and answer questions on a wide variety of topics, a release said.

Refreshments will be available at 5:30 p.m. At 6, bariatric surgeons Dr. David Faugno-Fusci and Dr. Michael Joannides will present in Education Rooms A and B.

Attendees will learn what to consider before getting weight loss surgery. Topics will include preoperative phases such as nutrition, exercise and psychological readiness; how to qualify for surgery; postoperative recovery and follow-up care; and how to reach long-term weight loss success, a release said.

Experts from the Sanford weight loss surgery team will provide information, answer questions and share the benefits of surgery.
