Adult Day Services provides a safe place for participants to enjoy socialization with others in the community, participate in games and exercises, and get out into the community.
"Nelson has been volunteering with the program for over a year now and has made great connections with participants," Adult Day Services said in a release. "She assists staff with activities and crafts, spends time with participants one-on-one painting nails and braiding hair and helps serve morning breakfast and beverages. We are grateful for the time that Michelle spends with us here."
Wurst has helped at the Adult Day Services facility by assisting with daily activities, connecting with participants one-on-one, serving lunch and helping staff get buses unloaded when participants are arriving and assisting them into the facility, as well as helping staff load up the buses at the end of the day.
Sanford Bemidji Hospice provides compassionate end-of-life care and support for patients and families in the Bemidji area.
"Ted has been one of our beloved volunteers for the last seven years," said Sanford Bemidji Hospice in the release.
He plays guitar for patients and families as well as any nursing home residents who would like to partake. He can always be found with a crowd gathered around him, singing or tapping along to the music.
"He has provided comfort and joy to so many who are nearing the end of life and he does so with a friendly smile and great sense of humor," added the release.
