Reach Out and Read Minnesota recently provided Sanford Bemidji Medical Center with sets of children’s literature to distribute during well-child visits at the clinic.

Books focusing on Native American culture were among those donated via a Reach Out and Read Minnesota grant funded by the Mdewakanton Sioux Community, a release said.

Additionally, books for disabled youth and their families were given through a 35 in 35 program celebrating Reach Out and Read's national anniversary of 35 years of supporting youth literacy from an early age. These books will help children with autism, ADHD, physical limitations, and deaf and blind communities, added the release.
