Parks and Rec to offer youth climbing club

The city of Bemidji Parks and Recreation Department will host a youth climbing club from 10:30 a.m. to noon on June 10-12, June 17-19 and July 29-31, at the Gillett Wellness Center.

BEMIDJI — The city of will host a youth climbing club from 10:30 a.m. to noon on June 10-12, June 17-19 and July 29-31, at the Gillett Wellness Center, 1801 Birch Lane NE.

This introductory course is designed to empower youth to discover the sport of climbing with experienced climbing instructors and a state-of-the-art climbing wall, a release said.

During each session, participants ages 9-14 will explore basic climbing movement skills and master techniques like knot tying and belaying. Each session is for up to 10 participants with two instructors.

The cost is $70 per participant per session.
