Operation Round Up funds awarded to local community organizations

A total of $40,190 and 21 grants were recently awarded to community organizations thanks to Beltrami Electric Cooperative members and the Operation Round Up program.

A total of $40,190 and 21 grants were recently awarded to community organizations thanks to Beltrami Electric Cooperative members and the Operation Round Up program.

Operation Round Up is a charitable program unique to electric cooperatives, where members round up their monthly electric bills to the nearest dollar, a release said.

According to the release, 100% of member contributions to Operation Round Up go to local projects. Project categories for organizations applying for grants from Operation Round Up must fit into one or more of the following: community service, economic development, education and youth, and environment.

Since its inception, Beltrami Electric's Operation Round Up Program has awarded $771,442 to 614 local projects. A full list of grant recipients is available at
