The group will travel 2,800 miles over the 30 days, about 80 miles per day, 35 miles per hour. The MVPA-HA 2024 Convoy (JH-34) consists of 35 historic military vehicles and over 70 volunteers from all over the United States, New Zealand, Australia and Belgium.
During the convoy's stop in Bagley, volunteers visited with community members and ate lunch donated by the local Subway. Denise Milton, Bagley American Legion Post 16 member and past commander, presented a donation to the MVPA during the luncheon at the Bagley American Legion.

The JH-24 is retracing the historic 1918 Jefferson Hwy, and their theme is History in Motion.
According to the "this convoy was designed to encompass American history, with planned stops at historic sites, such as the Headwaters of the Mississippi, parts of the Red River Trail (voyageurs' oxcart trail) from Winnipeg to St. Paul ... and ending with the National World War II Museum in New Orleans."
The Jefferson Highway was built in 1910 as part of the National Auto Trail system. The "trail" was named for President Thomas Jefferson and nicknamed the "Palm to Pine Highway" due to the vast variation of trees along the highway.
In the late 1920s, the name was replaced by the new US numbering system. There are a couple places in Louisiana and in Minnesota where the name Jefferson Highway remains.
Today, the Military Vehicle Preservation Association is the largest military vehicle group in the world. It includes approximately 3,500 members and nearly 80 affiliate groups. For additional information regarding the group's history, visit
