Harmony's Buy Local – Give Local event raises $1,681 for local organizations

Harmony Co-op recently partnered with customers and two community organizations, Bemidji Area Cross Country Ski Club and Great River Rescue, for its annual Buy Local – Give Local event.

Harmony Natural Foods Co-op recently partnered with customers and two community organizations, Bemidji Area Cross Country Ski Club and Great River Rescue, for its annual Buy Local – Give Local shopping event.

Held on Nov. 29, the event raised about $1,681 through 10% of sales. To round it up, Harmony is matching the amount so that each organization will receive $1,000, a release said.

is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to promoting cross-country skiing in Bemidji. They develop and maintain trail areas, sponsor ski events and foster camaraderie among outdoor enthusiasts.

The club's signature Sunday Ski ÍáÍáÂþ»­ runs every Sunday in January, welcoming participants aged 3 and up. This year, the organization is offering new scholarships to ensure the program is accessible to everyone.

Great River Rescue is a private, nonprofit, companion animal shelter located in Bemidji. They make every effort to save, care for and find homes for each animal that comes through their doors, the release said.
