Bemidji Middle حلحلآ‏» recently announced Rylee Petrowske, Ben Fischer and Julia Pirkl as fine arts students of the month.

The fine arts student of the month for choir is seventh-grader Rylee Petrowske. She decided to join choir because she really likes to sing. She also wanted to make new friends, and thought choir would be a great place to do that.

Some things that Petrowske enjoys about choir include the activities in class, seeing her friends and singing. In the future, she hopes to be in the high school choir, join high school show choir and learn a new instrument in band. She is also a member of the middle school show choir.

Eighth-grader Ben Fischer is the fine arts student of the month for art workshop. He says that his favorite thing to make is fishing supplies like lures and fish decoys.

Fischer says that it’s important for us to keep creating things with our hands in this digital age because if we don’t, we’ll never find out our potential and we could lose our traditions. The thing Fishcer enjoys the most about making things by hand is that he can make things the way he likes them and that he can actually use the things that he makes.

The fine arts student of the month for orchestra is Julia Pirkl. She plays double bass in the eighth-grade orchestra. She enjoys playing fun and energetic or mysterious music and learning new pieces. Some of her future goals in music are to continue to play all the way up through her senior year and get much better at her instrument.

In addition to being in orchestra, Pirkl also sings in the choir. She was chosen as fine arts student of the month for her positive attitude, dedication to being a team player and for being proactive in seeing what needs to get done and making it happen.
